15. Flamingo, Popular
The legendary Flamingo club has undergone many refits over the years (gay since 1980) but the latest project was the most ambitious ever. It has transformed the club into the largest 7-day-a-week venue in Europe and is now regarded as a major touring venue for larger-than-life PA's and Groups. Flamingo's has also now relocated to its new home. After a multi million pound refix, the excellent venue has numerous bars, huge dancefloor and a state of the art light and sound system. The music is excellent and the club is packed at weekends with a young attractive crowd.

Open Monday, Wednesday -Thursday, Sun 11:30pm-5am; Friday 11pm-5am; Saturday 11pm - 6am; also open Tue.
See website for themed nights and special events/ PA's etc

19. York Pride 2017, Popular
York Pride is a charitable organisation which aims to promote equality, diversity and advances in education, in order to eliminate discrimination against the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Community.

York Pride 2017 Parade
York Pride raises awareness of LGBT issues by promoting and staging events, taking part in campaigning and commentary in the media, and providing support to other LGBT charities and voluntary organisations. We also promote the provision of information, advice and support that celebrate LGBT lives and history. We aim for York to be a place where everybody knows that the diversity offered by the LGBT community is something to be celebrated and in which LGBT people can feel safe and accepted. We believe that inclusiveness improves self esteem and provides a sense of belonging, which helps to diminish the psychological effects of discrimination faced by individuals in daily life.

This year's event takes place on Saturday 10th June 2017.

20. Manchester Pride 2014, Popular
Pride events have been taking place in Manchester for over 20 years and the current Manchester Pride organisation is in its tenth year of organising the festival.

The main goal of Manchester Pride is to raise money for a variety of LGBT organisations and groups within Greater Manchester and we thank you for your ongoing support.

The parade normally starts around at 13:00 on Saturday (August Bank Holiday Weekend 2014) and is usually based around the theme (tba). As usual there will be a week of events in the run up to the main weekend. See website for full details of the week's events and how to participate.

There was some controversy after the 2013 event given the small amount given to various charities compared to the overall revenue generated during the event.
